Spring Swallow with Fake Nail Tattoos

Hi Everyone!

I know it's been a very long time since I've posted anything! Life happens and I won't bore you with the details. I still won't be able to post as regularly as I'd like but I really missed doing my nails and wanted to show you the mani I did with these nail decals/ tattoos sent to me by "Fake Tattoos".

Fake Tattoos is a Scandinavian company that specialises in temporary body and nail tattoos. The tattoos come in sheets of paper backed by plastic. They apply a lot like water decals other than they don't have to be dipped in water prior to applying. You just peel the plastic backing off, apply the image to the nail and press or carefully rub with a damp paper towel. The tattoo will transfer onto the nail and voila!

I created a mix and match mani using the swallow image. I used one of my favourite greens for spring - Essie Navigate Her as well as China Glaze Polarized on the ring finger to add a bit of sparkle. For the thumb, I opted for various sized polka dots in pink and white.

You can order Fake Tattoos directly from their website. They offer free worldwide shipping!

Something Dark and Decadent

After a few weeks of wearing pastels and brights, I felt like wearing a darker colour so I picked up Essie Carry On which I got on sale a few months ago but hadn't yet tried.

Carry On is a vampy blackened berry red. Maybe not the most appropriate colour for this time of year but in all honesty, I like wearing darks all year around.
I stamped using BM221 and Barry M Gold Foil and also added some thin gold french tips to make it more structured. For some reason it reminds me of chocolate wrapped in gold foil!

Vintage Rose – Scratch Nail Wraps

Hi lovelies. Hope everyone had a great Easter!

Scratch recently sent me two sets of nail wraps from their newest Kickstarter collection where they collaborated with designers to create three new sets of nail wraps.
Today I will be showing you "Vintage Rose" from The Burkatron Collection, designed by Caroline Burke.

I have previously reviewed some Scratch nail wraps here so you know how much I love working with these wraps. They are extremely easy to work with and very pliable which is usually a problem with other nail wraps. You literally just press them onto a clean and dry nail, smoothing out as you roll the wrap from the cuticle to the tip. You can file of the excess or it will easily break off at the tip as the wraps are so soft.

Here is how I wore these wraps. I paired them up in a mix and match mani with a polish that complemented the colours of the roses. You may also notice that the wraps are sparkling, that's because I added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. It makes for a really pretty spring mani.

You get a total of 16 nail wraps. Enough for a full mani and for an extra mix and match or an accent nail mani.

Last Year's Spring Flowers!

Why do my nails look so different in these pictures? Well, that's because I did this mani a year ago on this day but for some reason never posted it. I'm not sure why because I think it's quite cute. I came across the pictures when I was clearing out some folders on my laptop. Look how short my nails were!! It kind of makes me miss my nubs!

I used OPI Alpine Snow as a base and various polishes to create the small flowers. I can't remember what the green one is but it's probably Rimmel London Misty Jade. I also used Rimmel London Apricot Punch, Barry M Blueberry and Lemon Ice Cream and La Femme Angel. I also stuck a bullion bead onto the centre of each flower!

Pastel Blue & Sparkles on a Snowy March!

Time to show you another Shimmer Polish beauty, and in yet another gradient! I really need to stop it with the glitter gradients but I like them so much! It's one of my favourite ways to wear glitter!

Although it's nearing the end of March, it's still snowing here so I guess this is the only way I can wear a pastel without getting depressed about the horrible weather! I used two coats of Erre Due No.94, a lovely pastel blue creme and brushed some Shimmer Jenny onto the tips. Shimmer polishes are perfect for glitter gradients!

Between a Beetle and a Space Cadet

I always love finding and trying out polish brands which I've never heard of before. Today I have a polish from a brand called Seventeen to show you. Some of you may have heard of it before but the first time I came across it was when I was on holiday in Greece, where I bought a couple of bottles.
I went on their website and they also do make-up, skincare and fragrances. They seem to sell in Greece, Romania and Russia but their products are probably available in other countries too.

This shade is from their Super Shine collection. I has no name but is number 539. It obviously reminds me of Hard Candy Beetle, Orly Space Cadet, Accessorize Aztec and all those sort of colour shifting multichromes which show purple, green, indigo and gold. It looks so much more interesting in the bottle though!

Look how amazing it looks in water! Pretty much true to bottle colour!

Thanks for reading and commenting:)

Pink And A Pot Of Gold

A few weeks ago I did this glitter gradient and told you how much I've been loving them and that I would be doing some more in the near future. Well, here is another one. I love their simplicity, yet I receive the most compliments from people when I have something like this on my nails.

For this glitter gradient I used my only Jessica polish which I love - Samba Parade, a gorgeous baby pink. The formula is getting a bit strange on this one, maybe because I've had the bottle for so long! For the gradient I used W7 Gold Dazzle which is just a gold glitter bomb and for £1.95, it can't be beaten. The larger hex pieces of glitter in there are loose pieces that I randomly placed on the nail to give it a bit more variety and sparkle.

Shimmer Polish - Jennifer, Mary, Leslie

Today I have a few more Shimmer polish beauties to show you. Lets get right to it!

Jennifer is a predominantly blue glitter in a clear base. It's got other glitters mixed in there too such as gold, copper, lavender and turquoise. This is one coat of Jennifer over Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream

Mary is a cranberry tinted jelly. I love the medium sized matte black hex glitter and I bet it would look great on it's own, very jelly-like and squishy! In these pictures, I layered it over Sinful Colors Kismet Elated.

Leslie is a lavender and blue glitter polish and like the other Shimmer polishes, it's also packed with glitter. This is one coat of Leslie over Orly Purple Pleather.

You can purchase Shimmer Polish directly from Cindy's Etsy store. There are also lots of beautiful swatches and product information on their website and Facebook page.

Peach & Bows

Yesterday, a few of the Instagram nail girls had a nail meet in London. It was so nice to just sit and chat about nails over coffee, without the other person's eyes glazing over with boredom. Which is what usually happens when I talk with my non-nail friends who have no interest whatsoever in having a full blown conversation about the latest OPI collection or how I achieved a gradient look!

I wore something very simple. Mainly because I was very busy to do anything elaborate but also because I've been loving these simpler looks recently. Although it's still freezing here at the moment, I'm starting to love pastels as spring is just around the corner.

I used Collection 2000 Fruit Loop which is a very pretty pastel peach but the formula was a nightmare to work with. It's extremely streaky, requires three coats and doesn't even itself out! The accent finger is Milani Jewel FX Silver over a coat of Zoya Trixie and I added the cutest little bows from the Born Pretty Store. A pack of 10 bows is $2.98 and they come in various colours. Use discount code VA7J61 for 10% off.
